The Rev. Dr. Elijah Coleman Sr., pastor, and Dorothy Coleman of Kesler Temple, A.M.E. Zion Church, 426 E. Winder St., Henderson, recently announced that De’Forest and Shirley Henderson, formerly of Henderson, have completed The Victory Program. They both graduated from the program, with honors, during a ceremony held May 21. Both are now residing in Durham: De’Forest recently earned his commercial drivers license and is currently employed with Direct Link; meanwhile, Shirley works at the Durham Mission Thrift Store. A holistic recovery program organized by the Durham Rescue Mission, the Victory Program takes 12 months to complete. Using biblical principles, it helps addicts find reconciliation with both their families and God, while helping them learn employable skills.
