Nu Chi Omega members attend sorority cluster conference

Members of the Nu Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., recently attended the 2013 N.C. Cluster Conference for the Mid-Atlantic region.

Members in attendance were Dianne Evans, president of the chapter, Glenda Gooch, vice president, Iris Allen, Sarah Baskerville and Shirley Holliday.

The conference was held at the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley hotel in Raleigh.

It was hosted by the Chi Rho Omega Chapter of Knightdale.

The theme was “Global Leadership Through Timeless Service: A Smart Culmination.”

Special guests included N.C. Representative Alma Adams and Keith Sutton, chairman of the Wake County School Board.

More than 1,000 books for children were donated as part of the conference’s community service project.

Dr. Linda Gilliam, Mid-Atlantic region director, presided over the morning session. Nancy Wooten-Corr, N.C. Cluster coordinator, presided over the afternoon session.

Entertainment during lunch was provided by the Northern Carolina Cluster Chorale.
