Carver Elementary School’s One Step Above Reading Club recently held its Halloween program.

The theme was “A Parade of Superheroes.”

Each club member dressed in a costume that represented a superhero.

Marion B. Perry, program sponsor, and Patti McAnnaly also joined in the parade.

Perry spoke to the audience about imagination and what it means to be a hero.

Club member Yanira Hamrick read “Clifford’s First Halloween” by Norman Bridwell.

McAnally also read a book to the group.

A pinata was smashed, candy treats were handed out and positive remarks were made to supporters of the program.
