Garden club holds October meeting
The Woodland Garden Club recently held its October meeting at Satterwhite Point Park at Kerr Lake.
Vivian McIntyre, co-president, called the meeting to order.
Elmira Choopani gave the devotional.
Mary Jane Fink introduced the guest speaker, Keesha Perkinson.
Perkinson is the lead interpreter and education ranger at Kerr Lake and currently serves at County Line Park.
She presented a program on butterflies.
Following the program, Peggy Polak presented the horticulture report. Polak is a master gardener and a member of the club. Her report focused on gardening during colder months, including how to extend the life of tender plants and how to promote the flowering of the Christmas Cactus.
The club’s next meeting is scheduled for Nov. 10.
