Christmas toy collection drive to begin Nov. 1
The Lake Gaston Association is partnering with the John 3:16 Center once again for an annual toy collection drive beginning Nov. 1 to support the center’s Christmas Outreach program.
The program will provide Christmas gifts to approximately 160 children.
Collection boxes will be placed around the Littleton area, including at the Lake Gaston Gazette-Observer, Ace Hardware Store Lake Gaston and the W.C. “Billy” Jones Memorial Library.
All toy donations should be new and unwrapped and should not include toy weapons of any kind.
Children ranging from one month to 16 years old are registered for the program.
Ideas for gift donations include books for all ages, puzzles, board games, coloring books, baby toys, balls, watches, dolls, jewelry, art supplies and kits for crafts and models.
Monetary donations for the program are also accepted and may be made payable to the John 3:16 Center at P.O. Box 1541, Littleton, N.C. 27850. Monetary donations will be used to help purchase clothing for each child.
The drive will conclude at the Dec. 4 meeting of the LGA at the Lake Gaston Baptist Church. On the day of the meeting, collection boxes will be available at the church from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
