Compton to discuss N.C. pottery
Steve Compton will be at the Granville County Museum Harris Exhibit Hall at 10:30 a.m. July 30 to discuss pottery in North Carolina.
Compton is a collector of early pottery in the state and has written two books and several articles on the subject. He is also the former president of the board of directors for the N.C. Pottery Center.
Several pieces made in the North Carolina will be on display during the meeting, including 18th- and 19th-century earthenware, 19th-century salt-glazed and alkaline-glazed stoneware and some works from the 20th century.
Those interested can bring pottery pieces to discuss with Compton during the event.
