Vance-Granville Community College will offer a course on “Afternoon Tea” on the Vance County campus of Vance-Granville Community College.

The course is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 4 p.m., starting Sept. 24. The final class and “graduation” ceremony, an afternoon tea planned and facilitated by the students, will be held on Oct. 8 at Magnolia Manor in Warrenton.

The instructor will be Constance Lue of Oxford.

Students will learn about the history of tea, how to make it and the different kinds of tea parties. They will taste a variety of teas at each meeting, including black, white, green, oolong and herbal teas.

The cost of the course is $58 for four class sessions, plus $20 for the final tea. A resource manual with recipes for tea time, tips on flower arranging and a section on etiquette is included.
