Garden club holds February, March meetings
The Middleburg Garden Club has kept busy during the months of February and March.
In February, the club prepared and delivered garden therapy packages for a community shut-in.
In March, club members received a report on the gardening symposium organized by the Kerr Lake Extension master gardener volunteers. The symposium covered herbs, small-scale vegetable gardening, using edible plants in garden design and vermicomposting.
During the club’s March meeting, Sandra Neve presented a workshop entitled “Toe Dipping in Herb Growing,” which covered how to plant herbs from seeds and then dry them.
In April, the club will plant herbs to be passed out during Earth Day festivities at Vance-Granville Community College.
