Nichole talks art at Eaton-Johnson
Michelle Nichole recently spoke with students about her art during a visit to Eaton-Johnson Middle School.
The visit was part of the school’s observance of Black History Month.
Nichole specializes in oil paintings that depict historic scenes. Her works have been exhibited in the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh, the Hayti Heritage Center in Durham, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts and Culture in Charlotte, and the Durham County Main Library in Durham.
Nichole urged the students to pursue what they love and discussed her “In Hope of Freedom” collection, which depicts scenes of African-Americans during the Revolutionary War.
Several of her paintings were on display in the media center of the school during her presentation.
