Art show to accept submissions
Submissions will soon be accepted for the 48th annual Kerr Lake Art Show at Vance-Granville Community College.
The event, co-sponsored by the college and the Kerr Lake Art Society, will take place April 14 to 18 in the civic center on the colleges main campus in Vance County.
The competition is open to amateurs and professionals and includes photographs, drawings, prints and collages.
Submissions must be original and less than 12 months old. Works previously exhibited in a Kerr Lake Art Society show are not eligible.
Up to three pieces may be entered in the show for a fee of $15 for society members and $35 for non-members.
Cash prizes will be awarded in three categories: professional, amateur and photography. The prizes range from $25 to $150.
Works should not exceed 36 inches on any side.
All work in the professional category must be for sale.
All traditional entries must be framed. Sawtooth hangers and gallery canvases are not allowed.
Non-traditional works may be entered without a frame but must still must meet the size limit and be equipped for hanging.
Entries should be hand-delivered to the college between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. April 11 or April 12.
Judging will take place April 13.
The show will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 14 to 18.
