Learning center to benefit from Staples grant
The Staples Foundation recently awarded $4,000 to the Vance County Learning Center.
The grant is part of a program called 2 Million and Change that will award more than $2 million in grants by the end of the year to non-profit organizations worldwide that provide education or job skills training.
The program allows Staples associates to choose who receives the funding, and Henderson Staples associate Viola Terry chose the learning center.
The funds will be used to purchase school supplies, a dictionary for each new student and a computer for each of the center's five classrooms.
