Rho Tau Omega recognizes scholarship recipients

The Rho Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority recently hosted a reception at the Warren County Memorial Library for five of its scholarship recipients.

The recipients were Sydnei Shonte’l Bullock, Jessica Renée Harris, Joshua Ross Alston, Peyton Noelle Robertson and Quentin M. Davis.

They were selected based on academic achievements, community and church service, and participation in extracurricular activities.

Carolyn Spain, chapter vice president, presided at the reception.

Jennie Johnson Franklin, a former chapter president, stated the event’s purpose.

The current president, Frances Robertson, extended greetings and presented $1,000 to each of the honorees.

During the presentations, recipients introduced themselves, highlighted their high school careers and introduced family members and friends who joined them.

Bullock is a graduate of the Warren County Early College High School and plans to attend North Carolina State University. She is the daughter of Carla Bullock of Macon.

Harris graduated from Warren County High School and plans to attend Warren County High School. She is the daughter of Diane Harris of Warrenton.

Alston is a graduate of Warren County Early College High School and plans to attend UNC-Chapel Hill. He is the son of Carolyn R. Alston of Macon.

Robertson is a graduate of Warren County High School and also plans to attend UNC-Chapel Hill. She is the daughter of Noel and Donna Robertson of Warrenton

Davis is the son of Quentin and Sylvia Davis of Warrenton. He will attend Winston-Salem State University. He graduated from the Warren County Early College.
