Cruizers donate to help needy animals

Les Shelton (left), president of the Tar River Cruizers, presents a $1,000 check to Charles Boyd (right), Dawn Hedgepeth and Hershel to benefit the Ruin Creek Animal Protection Society. Last year, the Cruizers made a $1,500 donation to the society. The money be used to help unwanted, injured and abandoned animals in Vance County. The Tar River Cruizers holds cruise-in events every second Saturday of the month from March to October in the parking lot of Lowe’s Home Improvement.
