Central Children’s Home of North Carolina in Oxford was recently presented a check for $3,502 by Radio One Raleigh. Funds were raised through the Tip-A-Jock Holiday Community Service Efforts.
On-air radio personalities from the three stations that make up Radio One (WQOK 97.5FM, The Light 103.9FM, and Foxy 107.1/104.3FM) waited tables at the Longhorn Steakhouse Restaurant, located at 8121 Brier Creek Parkway in Raleigh. They in turn set aside all the tips they had earned. The total funds were sent as tax deductible charitable contributions to the children’s home.
Radio One Raleigh’s promotions director and Henderson native Tracy Mosley was in charge of organizing the initiative. According to her, the target amount for the fundraiser was $2,500.
This effort also received support from the Longhorn Steakhouse location in Brier Creek and Cricket Wireless.
