Allyson Leigh Wilder weds Matthew Shuford Donohue
Allyson Leigh Wilder of Washington, D.C., and Matthew Shuford Donohue of Old Town Alexandria, Va., were united in marriage Nov. 10, 2012, at 3 p.m., at Magnolia Manor Plantation in Warrenton. The Rev. Don Davidson officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Gordon Wilder of Henderson. She is the granddaughter of Bobby Moss and the late Emily Eaves Moss of Henderson and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Avery Wilder of Franklinton. She holds a bachelor of science degree in textile management and is currently employed as a retail manager for a boutique at Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C., M29 Lifestyle.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Matthew Donohue of Tallahassee, Fla. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson Shuford and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Patric Donohue. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and a master’s degree from the University of Mississippi. He is currently employed as the director of business development with Bulletin News.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her family. Her wedding gown was a silk satin skirt with a sweetheart neckline, lace overlaid bodice and peplum over skirt. Lace was embellished with organza flowers, ostrich feathers and crystals. Her headpiece was a fingertip veil. She carried a cascading bouquet of hydrange, roses, thistle and deep blue privet berries.
The matron of honor was Linsday Wilder Riney, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Claire Flye Donohoe, friend of the bride; and Mary Bate Donohue, sister of the groom.
The best man was James Matthew Donohue, father of the groom. The groomsmen were Oliver Patrick Droit Devine and Blair Hansen Clarke, both friends of the groom.
Emily Jane Riney, niece of the bride, served as flower girl.
A program of wedding music was presented by Laurie Williamson Walker, pianist and vocalist. Wendy Johnson Wilson served as wedding director.
Following the ceremony, the reception was hosted by the parents of the bride at the Magnolia Manor Plantation Garden and Pavilion.
After a honeymoon trip to Paris, France, the couple now resides in Alexandria, Va.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at the Magnolia Manor Plantation Pavilion.
A bridesmaids luncheon was hosted by Michele Burgess, Beth Flye and Betty Ann Dickerson at Henderson Country Club in Henderson.
A bachelorette party weekend was hosted by Claire Flye Donohoe and Lindsay Wilder Riney at Wrightsville Beach.
A bridal shower was hosted by Hollie Powell, Katherine Powell and Elizabeth Powell at the home of Hollie Powell in Henderson.
An engagement party was hosted by Rusty and Cindy Conner in Alexandria, Va., on Oct. 15, 2012.
