Solomon installed as head of prison ministry

Rev. Melvin B. Solomon, senior pastor of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson, was recently voted in as the president of Yokefellow Prison Ministry, Inc.

His installation recently took place at the 2013 annual session in Burlington.

Solomon became a volunteer with Yokefellow while serving as chaplain in the N.C. Department of Public Safety-Division of Adult Correction in 2003.

Solomon has also served as vice president, executive committee member and as a member of the board of directors for 10 years at Yokefellow.

Yokefellow is an inclusive ministry that welcomes all faiths. Its headquarters are in Winston-Salem.
