Colonial Gardeners hold November meeting
Members of the Colonial Garden Club recently convened for lunch at George’s Oxford Village Family Restaurant for the club’s November meeting.
Judy Parrish presided over the meeting.
Officers for the 2014 slate were announced. They include Parrish, president; Marilyn Wells, vice president; Katherine Frazier, recording secretary; Vera Gatano, corresponding secretary; Alice Watkins, treasurer; Joyce Odom, historian; Jane Baker, chaplain; and Lou Reavis and Grace O’Geary, calling committee. Further committees are still being finalized.
Prior to the business session, members paused to recognize Carol Ann Franklin, who served as club president for the past two years.
The group discussed area projects for the holidays. The projects will include assisting with the decoration the yule tree at Perry Memorial Library on Friday.
Following lunch, several members visited “Remember When,” a gift and antique business in Oxford.
The club’s December meeting will be hosted by Jane Baker and Lou Reavis.
