Local students participate in extracurricular program

The annual Vance County School of Excellence program was held from June 10-14, with 26 rising high school sophomores completing the leadership program.

During the program students participated in team building activities, toured local industries and government offices, learned how the business and education communities work together and took part in a community service day.

The participating students were: from Vance County Early College High School — Nyesha Miller; from Northern Vance High School ­— Jonathan Abbott, James Alexander, Amber Cousin, Alliya Gadsden, Camden Jones, William Jones, Loricia Martin, Chaquella Mason, Tiana Mosley, Harrison Perkinson, Julian Perry and Annabelle Webb; from Southern Vance High School — Nigoria Alston, Brielle Barrow, Jaiquan Burroughs, Samaria Carter, Canaan Dale, LaDarian Eaton, Malayia Glover, Jhane Palmer, Cassie Robinson, Keena White and Jasmine Williams; and from Kerr-Vance Academy — Jordan Smith and Katie Steg.
