Southern Vance students earning ServSafe certification announced
Several students at Southern Vance High School recently achieved certification by the Microsoft Information Technology Academy for the ServSafe food safety training program as part of their academic coursework in the Vance County Schools’ Career and Technical Education Program.
Students had to complete eight to 10 hours of food safety training through computer programs in order to earn this certification. Working at their own individual pace, students generally completed the training in 10 one-hour sessions. Each student must also pass a certification exam online to get their full certification. Linda Gregory, a family and consumer science teacher, conducts classes for the ServSafe program for Southern Vance students.
