Optimist Club begins 50th year, installs new officers
The Optimist Club of Henderson began its 51st year of existence with the installation of new officers at a recent club meeting.
Outgoing president Matthew Todd presided at the installation.
John Pecora is the new club president and Tommy Farmer is the vice president. Thurmond Murphy begins another tenure as secretary and treasurer.
Jim Hart, district lieutenant governor, installed the board of director.
One-year directors are Woody Caudle, John Capps and Yancey Hines. Two-year directors are Alan Gill, Cindy Harris and Stan Pigue.
The new officers spoke on commitment.
Errol Warren, district governor, spoke about following the club’s goals and creed.
T.W. Floyd presented the Optimist Man of the Year award to Tommy Haithcock.
