United Way accepting nominations for volunteer service award
The Volunteer Center of United Way of Vance County is accepting nominations for the 2014 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award.
The award program was created by the Office of the Governor in 1979 to recognize North Carolina’s most dedicated volunteers.
Each county may select up to 10 individuals, businesses, groups and one paid Director of Volunteers to be recognized.
One of those nominees will be nominated for the Governor’s Medallion Award for Volunteer Service, which is presented to the top 20 volunteers in the state.
Nomination forms for Vance County volunteers are available at the United Way office at 212 Dabney Drive or at unitedwayvance.org.
Completed forms must be returned to the United Way office or faxed to (252) 492-9111 no later than Oct. 25.
