Rehearsals are wrapping up for Granville Little Theatre’s production of ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,’ directed by DL Page, Jr. with Geoff Tanthorey assisting. The story will be narrated by Courtney Ewing (as Beth Bradley).
The worst kids in the whole history of the world — The Herdmans — Ralph (by Dillon Clayton), Imogene (Danielle Keeton), Leroy (Adam Brotherton), Claude (Taylor White), Ollie (Jackson Hopper), and Gladys (Kensington Norfleet) – are notorious delinquents in their community. Beth’s brother, Charlie (Logan Harrison), unwisely lies to Leroy Herdman which leads to all six of the Herdmans showing up at church the next Sunday for the first time in their lives.
Beth’s mother (Nikki Peters) is put in charge of the Christmas pageant when the original leader, Mrs. Helen Armstrong (Karen Brown) suffers a broken leg. The Herdmans volunteer (threaten) their way into all six of the main roles. However, in spite of them, the show turns into a success.
Showings are scheduled for Thursday-Saturday, at 7:30 p.m. nightly, and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door and will cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors/students, and $5 for children 5 and under.
