The Kittrell Job Corps Center took part in several April activities in honor of Global Youth Service Day and Earth Day.

Students and staff volunteered at the New Hope Elementary Fun Day, assisting with games and activities held for children, and they volunteered at the Henderson Lions Club car wash held in support of the N.C. Blind Foundation.

The center partnered with the N.C. Department of Transportation for an Adopt-a-Highway project to pick up trash along U.S. 1 in Kittrell.

The social development department hosted a recycling contest among the center’s female and male dorms.

The career technical trades department hosted an Earth Day Every Day Go Green Fair in the gym to demonstrate sustainable practices in various trade areas.

Students and staff also assisted during the Vance County recycling event held at the city operations center in Henderson, where county residents brought a variety of materials to be recycled.
