The Vance County Genealogical Society held its monthly meeting at Perry Memorial Library on April 8, 2013. A total of 37 people were in attendance.

After the business meeting, Arlene S. Bice presented a program on her new book, “Ghostly Spirits of Warren County, North Carolina and Beyond.”

Bice has uncovered hauntings of historical Warren County by documenting the true stories of current residents. She has written books on the ghosts of historic Bordentown, N.J., of which she is a former resident, and she is currently writing her next book on the paranormal.

All members and visitors in attendance received a copy of Vance Voices, the Vance County Genealogical Society Newsletter.

The next meeting will take place Monday, at 6:30 p.m., in the Farm Bureau Room at the Perry Memorial Library in Henderson. Verona Ann Markham will present a program on family traditions. Members, guests and interested persons are encouraged to attend.
