Applications accepted for Vance Medical Academy

Applications are now being accepted for the Vance Medical Academy for the 2014-2015 school year.

The academy, located at Southern Vance High School, helps prepare students for a career in healthcare and gives them the opportunity to earn certifications in CPR, first aid, career readiness and certified nurse aide one.

The academy will include biotechnology courses and field experience in clinical settings.

Students will also have the opportunity to gain college credits through Vance-Granville Community College.

The application process is open to current eighth-grade students.

Applications are available at middle schools in Vance County and are available on the Vance County Schools website, vcs.k12.nc.us.

Completed applications should be turned in to a guidance counselor at the student’s school no later than April 17.
