‘Adopt’-ing a family for Christmas? Why not 3?

Each year, during the Christmas Holiday, Reaching the Hearts of Women-International Ministries adopts a family.

This time however, the ministry didn’t just adopt one family: it adopted three — a first place family and two runners-up families.

Ministry members brought the children and the parents of the second and third place families presents. They also treated them to breakfast at Cracker Barrel in Henderson.

The family that won first place was made up of a single mother and her two boys, ages seven and four. To begin the day, they were first taken out to lunch at Kanki Japanese Steakhouse, located at Crabtree Valley Mall, in Raleigh. While there, they were presented many gifts, consisting of clothes, shoes, winter coats, and toys. After the kids opened their presents, each one was given $100 to go on a shopping spree in the mall, where they were able to pick out anything they wanted.
