Maria Parham Medical Center: Jones named to leadership role in human resources association
Tonya Jones, PHR, vice president of human resources at Maria Parham Medical Center, was recently named president of the North Carolina Healthcare Human Resources Association. She will hold the position for the entire calendar year.
Jones joined the hospital in early 2007 as its vice-president of human resources. Originally from Henderson, she first obtained her bachelor’s degree from N.C. Central University and then completed the MBA program at Pfeiffer University.
The association strives to help people understand and gain an appreciation for human resources management and the principles behind it. This group is the local affiliate for the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration.
In this new role, Jones will be help oversee and direct its executive committee, networking with other human resources and healthcare organizations in order to share mutually beneficial information, representing the state at the national level of the association, and formulating the goals/objectives for the upcoming year.
Jones is also a board member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central North Carolina, and a member of both the Society for Human Resource Management and the Raleigh-Wake Human Resources Management Association.
