Bonnie Howell (front, at left), director of Diagnostic Imaging at Maria Parham Medical Center, in the presence of several hospital staff members, accepts a proclamation from Pete O’Geary (front, at right), the mayor of Henderson, recognizing Nov. 4-10 as National Radiologic Technology Week. Radiologic technologists — the people who operate the diagnostic equipment and perform radiation treatment — across the country are recognized annually at this time for the vital work they perform. It takes place during the week that Nov. 8 falls. Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen discovered the X-ray on this date in 1895.
