Arts council to celebrate Black History Month

The Vance County Arts Council is holding a Black History Month celebration at 6 p.m. Friday at the Emrose Gallery, 2333 S. Garnett St.

The celebration will feature Roy Burroughs.

Dr. Alice Clark Sallins will be the speaker.

The featured artist will be Morris Morton.

There will be free buttons, fans, necklaces and T-shirts.

The event is sponsored by the N.C. Arts Council.

It is free and open to the public.
