Community Watch Association to hold first training meeting

The Henderson Vance Community Watch Association, along with the Henderson Police Department and Vance County Sheriff’s Office, is holding its first training meeting for community watch groups and others interested in Vance County.

The meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of Maria Parham Medical Center.

Dr. Gene Wood, president of the HVCWA, will be the keynote speaker.

The meeting will cover the importance of community watch groups and the various resources available to groups in Vance County.

In addition, information will be provided on how to start a new community watch.

Each community watch group in attendance will be recognized.
