Daisy Garden Club holds January meeting
The Daisy Garden Club recently held its January meeting in the home of club president Barbara Carroll.
Vivian Bullock led the devotion. The group sang “O Beautiful for Garden Green.” Then Bullock read the poem “Happy New Year” and the text “A New Day, A New Beginning, A New Year.” After the readings, Bullock offered a prayer.
Following the devotion, Carroll conducted the business session.
Henry Floyd and Edna Bartley Hargrove were welcomed as new members. Carroll presented a daisy boutonniere to Floyd and a daisy corsage to Hargrove.
Patricia Holt presented a program on insects. The presentation included how to identify various stinging insects, including bees, wasps and hornets; how to avoid getting stung; and how to treat a sting using various home remedies.
Floyd blessed the food during the meal, and Delores Green offered thanks to Carroll for hosting the meeting.
Velma Steed adjourned the meeting with a prayer.
