Crop disaster assistance available for farmers, producers in Vance and Warren counties

Producers in Vance and Warren counties of non-insurable crops may be affected by a natural disaster. Effects may include low yields, loss of inventory or prevented planting.

Financial assistance to offset these results is now available through the Farm Service Agency’s Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program.

A landowner, tenant or sharecropper sharing in the risk of producing an eligible crop and is entitled to an ownership share are eligible for coverage. Individuals must file application Form CCC-471 and the applicable service fee at the Farm Service Agency no later than the sales closing date. The Farm Service Agency can provide information on which date applies to a certain crop. The service fee is either $250 per crop or $750 per producer per county, whichever is less, not to exceed $1,875 a producer with interests in multiple counties.

To be eligible for the program, an individual’s or entity’s average nonfarm adjusted gross income limitation cannot be greater than $500,000.

To receive for administrative service fee waiver, limited resource producers must first meet the criteria.
