Members of the Vance County Chapter of the The House of Jabez’ Men of Valor recently held their monthly retreat.

Gathering for fellowship and fun at Adventure Landing, the group played lazer tag and went go-kart riding, among other activities. Bringing their report cards with them, those members attending who had earned all A’s and B’s were given free tokens.

In other news, the chapter also conducted a Boyz 2 Men Initiative. Members collected socks, deodorant, T-shirts and other personal hygiene items. Antoine Hargrove, CEO of the House of Jabez, and Eledoro Nuñez, chapter president, took the items to the Henderson/Vance Men’s Shelter and presented them to Charles Turrentine Jr., shelter director.

The House of Jabez Outreach Center welcomes volunteers and supporters for upcoming events. Contact Hargrove by calling (919) 397-5339 or email him at; or send a letter to THJ Youth Outreach Center, P.O. BOX 964, Norlina, NC 27563.
