Clarke Elementary students learn about pollination from master gardeners

Clarke Elementary School students received a visit Feb. 22 from several members of the master gardeners. The group, working through the Vance County 4-H Program and Agricultural Extension Service, gathered several third-grade students together in the school’s cafeteria help them with their study of plants and pollination. Nancy Mocarsky (standing, at right), a volunteer gardener and retired teacher, instructs some students on the construction of a paper flower. The entire session was conducted by Pam Jones, Vance County 4-H program coordinator, and Paul McKenzie, Agricultural Extension Service agent.
