Kittrell Community Watch meets for July
The Kittrell Community Watch group met July 17 at the Kittrell Community House for a lesson on home alarm systems.
Edward Woodlief, Kittrell Community Watch president, called the meeting to order, and Patricia Rogers delivered the invocation.
Scott Ritchey demonstrated a high-visibility house number sign designed to assist emergency responders and encouraged those attending to install similar signs. The signs are available from Community Watch for a small fee.
David Ahner of Ahner Security Inc. provided a tutorial on home burglar alarm and video security systems. He demonstrated how to control an alarm system with a smartphone and displayed live video from a protected site. He also spoke about the advantages of professionally monitored systems that integrate smoke and fire detection with a burglar alarm. Throughout the presentation, he addressed numerous questions and comments from the audience.
The next Kittrell Community Watch meeting is scheduled for Sept. 18.
