College holding phlebotomy course
Vance-Granville Community College is offering a phlebotomy course starting Aug. 19 at its Warren County campus in Warrenton.
The classes will be held 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, ending Nov. 20.
Phlebotomists, also known as phlebotomy technicians, draw blood from patients in a variety of medical settings, including hospitals, clinics, mobile labs and doctor’s offices.
Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit in a variety of national certification exams.
Kathy Bedussi-Hardee will serve as instructor.
The cost of registration for the course is $205.
Participants must have a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma to register.
Prospective students can register online at vgcc.edu/ohp or in person at any of the college’s campuses between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
