Summer Institute for Educators to be in August

Jul. 09, 2014 @ 11:51 AM

Granville County Schools will hold its second annual Summer Institute for Educators on Aug. 12 and Aug. 13.

The institute is open to all teachers, administrators and parents who would like to learn more about technology in education.

It will be structured like a conference, having more than 25 sessions participants can choose to attend.

This year’s keynote speaker will be writer and presenter Kathy Shrock. Shrock is an online adjunct graduate-level professor at two universities and an independent educational technologist. Her keynote presentation is entitled “Telling the Story: Lessons Learned from the Outside World.” She will also offer two breakout sessions, “iPads for Teaching and Learning” and “A Picture is Worth 1000 Words: Using Infographics as a Creative Assessment.”

Lunch for both days will be catered on site and is included in the registration fee.
