College offers CDL-B driver training
Vance-Granville Community College has scheduled a Class B Commercial Driver License at the college’s main campus in Vance County.
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 2 through Oct. 11.
The course will prepare North Carolina residents for jobs operating commercial vehicles such as delivery trucks, dump trucks, cement trucks, passenger buses and utility trucks. After completing the course, students will be prepared to take the general knowledge, air brake, “P” endorsement and pre-trip vehicle inspection sections of the state’s CDL-B exam.
The course will include classroom instruction and hands-on driving experience.
Lester Knight and Aubrey Rodwell will serve as instructors.
The cost of the course is $195.25, and there is an additional $39 cash-only charge for a mandatory drug screening the first day of class.
