Around 250 students, parents and school staff recently gathered for the Early High School STEM program’s family night to celebrate the programs success during the first part of the school year.

Speakers at the event included Donald McCoy, a STEM consultant and retired IBM engineer, and Dana Bowden, the program coordinator.

McCoy made comments on the importance of science, technology, engineering and math.

Bowden focused on upcoming activities through the rest of the school year, including a field trip to the Museum of Natural Science in January, an American Red Cross blood drive in February, an information technology day at N.C. A&T State University in March and a science fair in April.
