Old Bute Chapter holds December meeting
The Old Bute Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently held its December meeting in the home of Janice Satterwhite, the chapter’s vice regent.
Following a covered-dish luncheon, Virginia Grissom, chapter chaplain, presented a program entitled, “The Legend of the Sand Dollar.” The presentation focused on the symbolic connection between the shape of the sand dollar and the birth and death of Jesus.
Sara Davis, regent, gave a report on the society's volunteering project and read a letter of thanks on behalf of the Durham Veterans Affairs Hospital in response to Christmas gifts the chapter had donated.
Davis also expressed gratitude to West End Baptist Church. The district meeting of the North Carolina Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will take place at the church in March.
