Ideas accepted for Dispatch’s 100th

Dec. 20, 2013 @ 09:26 AM

The Dispatch is offering an invitation to join in the spirit of turning 100 years old.

The Dispatch celebrated 99 years on Aug. 12 and plans are under way for the Aug. 12, 2014, celebration.

The Dispatch follows a tried and true theory that the readers are the newspaper. Without them, the newspaper doesn’t exist and it is on that premise that suggestions are being solicited.

There are a number of questions often asked of centenarians, and while cliché, still very valid. “What’s the secret of longevity? How’d you do it? How’d you put up with (fill in blank) for so long? Do you remember when this or that happened?”

The Dispatch wants the celebration focused on the people who have made and will continue to make the newspaper.

Suggestions are being accepted for what would be interesting to see in a 100-year anniversary section in August next year. What would be useful? What would be important to be included?

Email so we can receive your suggestions.
