Deadline approaches for women’s club scholarship applications

The Warrenton Women’s Club of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs is accepting applications for the clubs statewide GFWC-NC Southall Cotten Scholarship.

Applicants must reside in Warren County, be graduating seniors, be rated in the top 25 percent of their class and have plans to attend a college or university in North Carolina.

The winner of the scholarship will be awarded $6,000 per year for four years, for a total award of $24,000.

Applications are available from the guidance counselors at Warren County High School, New Tech High School, Early College High School and the Haliwa-Saponi High School. Applications may also be obtained from Elizabeth Groeger. She may be contacted at (252) 257-9258.

Completed applications must be received in a guidance counselor's office of any of the schools or mailed to Elizabeth Groeger, 236 Lyons Creek Road, Macon, NC 27551, no later than Jan. 6.
