School ambassadors assist with library program
Student ambassadors at Eaton-Johnson Middle School, along with the youth department at Perry Memorial Library, are set to help with the library’s reading program this summer.
Two ambassadors, Jose Malinab and Billy Cates Vicente, accompanied by their advisor, Dr. Priscilla Chavis-Lockley, recently visited the library to prepare bags filled with pamphlets, bookmarks, pencils and stickers for the program.
The program begins June 9 and ends Aug. 8. It is open to children of all ages. Activities will include games, crafts, stories and songs.
A kickoff party is scheduled for 5 p.m. June 9 at the library. It will be free and open to the public.
