District 9 of the N.C. Federation of Garden Clubs recently held its annual fall meeting at the Perry Memorial Library.

The Daisy Garden Club hosted the meeting.

Vivian Bullock, district president, presided over the meeting.

Edith Hare led the devotion. The group sang “In The Garden.” A prayer followed the song.

Barbara Carroll, president of the Daisy Garden Club, gave the welcoming.

After the business session, Samuel Franklin of Franklin Brothers Nursery presented a program on fall planting. He offered advise on how to plant bulbs and flowers for spring. He also informed the group of a new pansy that can be planted in pots during winter.

Franklin donated a planter for a door-prize, which was won by Veronica Palmer. He also provided decorative gourds for the group.
