Henderson women receive award at statewide convention
Four members of the Henderson Business and Professional Women’ Club recently attended the club’s statewide convention in Greensboro, where they were recognized recognized with a first place award for maintaining membership and support for the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation.
The event, themed, “blueprint for success,” included the latest findings on the economic status of North Carolina women; an update on the plans for ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment; an advocacy panel discussion exploring community organizations which seek to eliminate barriers, particularly health and safety issues, to the economic success and participation of women; strategies for evaluating risk-taking opportunities in personal career development; a business panel discussion addressing successful strategies and potential pitfalls of women in business; strategies for polishing professionalism, enhancing interpersonal skills and improving a personal brand; strategies for reducing stress and increasing fitness; a leadership panel addressing strengthening Business and Professional Women’s Clubs in N.C.; and a special film chronicling the history of the club.
