College offers office computer skills training

Vance-Granville Community College is currently registering students for “Today’s Office: Computer Skills,” a course designed for employees who need instruction on the use of commonly used software programs in local workplaces. Starting Monday, he class will meet Monday and Thursday evenings, from 5:30- 9:30 p.m., through April 29. Classes will meet in Room 7136 of Building 7 on the college’s Main Campus in Vance County.
Students will receive a total of 144 hours of instruction in the 2010 versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Upon completion, students will know how to integrate applications with one another to fully utilize their interface capabilities.
The cost of the course includes a registration fee of $175, plus $7 in other college fees. For one course per semester, fees will be waived for N.C. resident seniors, ages 65 and above.
