Cooperative Extension to hold community resource fair

The Vance County Cooperative Extension Center, along with the Vance County Schools Career and Technical Education Department and several other community partners, is holding a countywide community resource fair on March 20 at Southern Vance High School.

The fair will be open to Northern and Southern Vance high school students during the school day. It will open to the public at 3:30 p.m., beginning with a presentation by keynote speaker Bob Etheridge, executive director of the N.C. Farm Service Agency.

More than 50 vendors will be present to provide information about health and area career opportunities.

There will also be four workshops focusing on the Cooperative Extension's agriculture, community rural development, family consumer sciences and 4-H youth development programs.

Workshop presenters will include Chef Steven McCray of Charlotte and Shewana McSwain, nutrition outreach coordinator at N.C. A&T State University.
