Perry Memorial Library’s “Let’s Talk About It” series begins this year on Feb. 25, with a discussion about “In the Time of the Butterflies” by Julia Alvarez.

The series will consist of five evening sessions from 7 to 9 p.m. where participants meet with a scholar to discuss a particular book.

The library will make multiple copies of the scheduled book available for participants to check out and read before the session.

The theme of this year’s series is “The Many Voices of Latino Literature.”

The next four programs and their respective books are scheduled for March 11, with “Dreaming in Cuban” by Cristina Garcia; March 25, with “Daughter of Fortune” by Isabel Allende; April 8, with “Of Love and Other Demons” by Gabriel Garcia-Marquez; and April 22, with “When I Was a Puerto Rican” by Esmeralda Santiago.

The series is sponsored by the Friends of Perry Memorial Library and the N.C. Humanities Council.
