Aquatic vegetation survey, treatment status topic of LGA meeting

Jul. 30, 2014 @ 10:44 AM

At the monthly meeting of the Lake Gaston Association at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, the featured speaker will be Dr. Brett Hartis, aquatics extension and research associate in the Department of Crop Science at N.C. State University. He will talk about this year’s Lake Gaston Aquatic Vegetation Survey and how this year’s publicly funded weed treatment is progressing. A question-and-answer session will follow.

The meeting will be held at the Lake Gaston Baptist Church located on N.C. 903, 1 mile north of Eaton Ferry Bridge, across from the Subway.

The meeting will also provide an opportunity to get caught up on the various activities that the LGA committees — public safety, lake environment, government relations, marketing and membership, and lake clean-up — are working on.

Got a lake-related issue or concern the LGA should address? There will be time allotted on the agenda to present those concerns to the board.

The meeting is open to the public.
