Vance-Granville Community College is holding Earth Day celebrations at all three of its campuses this year, and each will be open to community participation.

The festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 22 at the campuses in Vance, Granville and Franklin counties.

The events are meant to educate the college and community about conservation and the natural world.

Faculty and staff members will offer information and demonstrations, and students will present projects and artwork.

A run/walk will be featured on the campuses in Vance and Granville counties to promote healthy living.

The event is open to participation from businesses, community groups and individuals involved in the natural sciences and promoting sustainable practices.

Participants may set up a booth free of charge at any of the campuses, but space is limited.

To reserve space for a booth, contact Dr. Dan Settles of the Vance County campus at (252) 738-3449; Geraldine Cash of the Granville County campus at (252) 738-3506; or Diane Hunt of the Franklin County campus at (252) 738-3600.
